You read that right. Nissan just released the luxurious 2016 Maxima but may be looking into a NISMO version. We already hear angels singing. In all seriousness, a NISMO version of the Nissan Maxima could be a significant step for the auto maker. Nissan already has taken the role as trendsetter with the introduction of a luxury sedan without the luxury price tag. So what is the Nissan Maxima NISMO release date?
Earlier in the year 2016 Nissan Maxima product planner Vishnu Jayamohan hinted to The Detroit Bureau that a NISMO might take some time to make the sedan even sportier than it is now. In addition, Nissan has promised the release of NISMO-tuned vehicles. The Juke NISMO and GT-R NISMO are two of those super-powered returns on the promise. Could a Nissan Maxima NISMO be next?
Unfortunately, there are only rumors at this time and no official statement from Nissan on this. Only time will tell what Nissan creates next! In the meantime, one can only dream of Nissan Maxima NISMO. Currently the 2016 Nissan Maxima comes equipped with a 300-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine while the 2016 Nissan GT-R NISMO has a 600-hp, 3.8-liter V-6 under the hood. If NISMO did work to transform the Nissan Maxima, the major adjustments would truly be the engine and chassis. While the 2016 Nissan Maxima offers dynamic, precise handling, improvement would have to be made for it to handle a more powerful engine properly.
