Guide to Nissan Safety Shield® 360 Features and Systems

Nissan Safety Shield® 360 is made up of six primary safety systems – Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Rear Automatic Braking. To help keep you and your family safe, the Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that make up Nissan Safety Shield® 360 employ an array of cameras and sensors on both the front and rear of your vehicle to monitor the traffic around you and your own driving.

Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection – The Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection system uses sensors and cameras to detect pedestrians and vehicles around you and provide audio and visual alerts when a potential collision is detected. The system can even apply the brakes automatically to help prevent an accident.

Blind Spot Warning – It is easy to miss a vehicle in your blind spot when you change lanes. Nissan Blind Spot Warning will detect vehicles in your blind spot and provide you with an audible warning to help prevent collisions.

Lane Departure Warning – Do you ever get distracted behind the wheel and drift into another lane? Lane Departure Warning will provide you with an audible warning when it detects movement into another lane that is not intentional.

High Beam Assist – Add increased visibility to your vehicle repertoire with High Beam Assist in your Nissan vehicle. High Beam Assist can detect oncoming traffic and will turn your high beams off automatically to prevent blinding oncoming traffic.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert – Backing out of a parking spot in a busy parking lot can be dangerous and Rear Cross Traffic Alert can help with a suite of cameras and sensors that detect alert you to oncoming traffic behind your vehicle.

Rear Automatic Braking – The Rear Automatic Braking system uses cameras to detect stationary objects to the rear of your vehicle and has the ability to automatically apply the brakes in the event that you do not stop – lessening the potential and severity of a rear impact.
