Remember that as a teen, it will take you longer to save up the money that is needed for a car than it would take an adult. This means that you should start saving years in advance. Set a reasonable budget for yourself. Know how much money you want to have in the bank before you start looking for a vehicle and have a plan for earning that amount of money.
It can be tempting to purchase the nicest car that you can possibly afford with the money that you have worked so hard to earn. However, that is not always the smartest decision. It is important to keep in mind other bills that you may have to pay for in the near future such as: College tuition, books, an apartment or anything else that you know you will need to pay for eventually. If you spend all of your money on purchasing a car you may not be able to pay for the other important things that are going on in your life.
