Big Features, Little Car: 2015 Nissan Sentra

Should I purchase a 2014 or 2015 Nissan Sentra?

Nissan completely redesigned the Sentra for 2013. So this has a lot of people wondering, “Should I purchase a 2014 or 2015 Nissan Sentra?” Well, here at Matt Castrucci Nissan we want to make sure you are fully informed on all the models we sell so that you can get a vehicle that suits your needs, for the best value possible. So we are going to go through the changes on the new 2015 Nissan Sentra in this blog post.

Nissan didn’t make any major exterior changes to the Sentra for the 2015 model year. Instead they focused more on features. They reshuffled a lot of the tech features around and made more of them standard on the 2015 Sentra. Nissan hopes that these additional features will help to attract new buyers to the competitive compact-sedan category that the Sentra competes in.

For 2015 they have made features like Bluetooth and USB standard on all six Sentra models. The lower-priced trim versions of the Sentra are getting new standard features such as cruise control, steering-wheel audio controls and many other features. The Sentra SV is getting automatic headlights, a smart key, satellite radio, 4.3-inch display monitor and many other features that were previously only optional. The SR trim level will be getting rear disk brakes and the SL model will be getting leather seat and heated leather front seats.

They are hoping that features like these, which used to only be standard on luxury vehicles, will help them to one-up their competition.

All six of the Sentra models come with a 1.8 liter, four-cylinder engine that is very fuel efficient. All of the models except for the for the base “S” model come with Nissan’s signature CVT transmission.

In our opinion, if you are interested in having the additional tech features then we would recommend getting the 2015 Nissan Sentra. However, if you don’t mind driving a vehicle without all of the fancy options than you may be able to save a little money buy purchasing a 2014. Either way, we believe that you will be very happy with the Sentra whether you choose a 2014 or 2015. Both of these model years are excellent and reliable vehicles.
