Attention to detail is what sets an engine from the 2017 Nissan GT-R apart from the competition. Each one is hand-built by its own Takumi technician. For the new model year, the confirmed peak power rating coming from the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter, V-6 is 565 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and a tire-melting 467 pound-feet of torque. Testing methods previously only used for the GT-R NISMO were used across the rest of the GT-R models, this played a key role in adding the additional 20 horsepower and four pound-feet of torque.

Interior features of the 2017 Nissan GT-R

The only thing more important than adding modern style to the interior of the 2017 Nissan GT-R is making sure the driver is in a comfortable seating position and able to reach all of the needed controls. Nissan designers have chosen Nappa leather as the upholstery material in the 2017 GT-R. When applied to the dashboard, the material was installed in once piece allowing for what Nissan calls a “horizontal flow.”

Like many modern high-performance cars, a bulk of the systems for the 2017 GT-R are controlled from the center stack. For the new model year, the automaker’s design team revised, improved and, more importantly, simplified the layout of the center stack. The 2016 GT-R has 27 switches for its various systems. This has been reduced to 11 for the 2017 model. Elements for the car’s navigation system have been placed lower for easier readability and to allow the driver to have more outward visibility. Additionally, the eight-inch touch panel is fully customizable to the driver’s needs and tastes.
