Safety technology continues to improve, but even with increasingly better safety features the importance of crash test ratings won’t be diminished. Nonprofit, independent organizations like the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) work in collaboration with auto manufacturers to improve safety and ensure the latest innovative technology works on the road as well as it does in the design room.
