2014 Nissan GT-R Dayton OH
When Nissan released the GT-R, it was a screaming monster. And the 2015 Nissan GT-R in Dayton, OH is no different…except for the addition of a new Nissan Nismo edition, which makes a screaming monster into a screaming feral monster. The GT-R is a beast of a sports car and the new model year fine tunes the beast to make the wild ride a little more comfortable without sacrificing anything that made it great. It also actively made an attempt to make the interior quieter, which, depending on who is asked, isn’t necessarily a good thing, but it does make for an “easier on the ears” drive.
With it’s powerful 3.8liter V6 engine that throws out 545 horsepower and 463 pound-feet of torque, pushing that to the all-wheel-drive system through a six-speed automated transmission. The newly released Nismo gets its V6 to hurl an impressive 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft. Both are very fast creatures, with the 2015 Nissan GT-R going from 0 to 60 in just 3.1 seconds which is painfully quick. Despite all this, it gets a surprisingly decent fuel economy at 16/23 city/hwy mpg.
The interior is surprisingly simply for such a powerful sports car, where others make entry and exit awkward, the GT-R makes it as quick and effortless. As with most Nissans, the controls are all well placed and despite a large amount of tech under the hood, its all rather intuitive and easy to use, especially the 7 inch touchscreen used to keep track of all the performance measurements. All of this goes a long way into make day to day driving in the 2015 Nissan GT-R in Dayton, OH a lot better without eating into its ability to unleash the hounds under its hood.
The Nismo model looks different to maximize aerodynamics and a stiffer body. Adding a massive wing on the back, the Nismo looks much more like a track car than the GT-R and for good reason, considering that it is the GT-R hulked out.
All in all, few cars get the menace and power that the GT-R does, while the upgrades to the interior make it far more appetizing to someone who doesn’t want to limit themselves to just driving on the track. Sure there are others out there, but the “Godzilla” is calling, and its hard to deny that terrifying howl.
