Beware of leaves
While fall foliage is certainly beautiful to look at, the leaves are actually pretty slippery when they land on the road. In fact, leaves can be just as slippery as ice in the right conditions. Rain and morning dew only amplify the issue, so we recommend taking caution when driving on a road with plenty of fallen leaves.
Keep an eye out for deer
There is a huge increase in deer-related car accidents in the fall, mostly due to the animals’ migration pattern and mating season. This is especially prevalent in the Midwest, so be sure to take extra caution when driving on backcountry roads and keep your eyes peeled at night for glowing eyes since deer are known to dart out in front of cars when they see headlights.
Prepare for foggy conditions
Colder mornings often lead to extra precipitation in the form of fog, and we all know how dangerous driving in foggy conditions can be. Make sure to leave extra distance between you and the person in front of you, and we recommend using your low beams instead of high beams because your brights tend to create extra glare.
