Local Fall Events That are Great for Children
It becomes more difficult to keep kids active and find fun things to do in the fall and winter as the temperature continues to drop and we all get the urge to spend more time inside at home. However, there are a lot of fun Fall activities for kids near Dayton OH that many of you may not know about. So all of us here at Matt Castrucci Nissan have decided to share some fun and unique Fall activities in our community that are a lot of fun for kids.
Tom’s Maze and Pumpkin Farm
Tom’s Maze and Pumpkin Farm is currently in its 17th season and is located in Germantown, OH. The main draw to this destination is the gigantic eight-acre corn maze. However, the size of this maze is not the only thing that makes it unique. They have also turned it into a game to add to the fun. They challenge patrons to collect 12 puzzle pieces throughout the maze before reaching the exit.
There are also other attractions such as the pumpkin farm. However, this is not your typical pumpkin farm. It features the one and only “Tom’s Pumpkin Chuckin’ Cannon”, which is a favorite attraction among the kids. The cannon features a 25-foot long air-powered barrel that is mounted on a vintage fire truck from 1968. This cannon is no joke, it has the power to launch pumpkins over a quarter mile.
PhilharMonster Halloween Concert
The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra holds the annual PhilharMonster Halloween Concert as the kickoff event for their 2014-2015 series. The concert takes place on October 12th at the Schuster Center right here in Dayton, Ohio. This is a special event that features the musicians playing music while wearing Halloween costumes on stage. The musicians even hold a costume contest for the crowd to enjoy. There are prizes awarded the best costume in various categories such as: Scariest, most creative and cutest.
Miamisburg Fall Festival
This is an annual Fall Festival that is held by the Parks and Recreation department that provides great fun for community members of all ages. It is located in Miamisburg OH at Riverfront Park and will be held on October 11th and 12th. Some of the attractions held at the festival include: inflatable play areas, crafts hayrides and games for children. There will also be be plenty of music and great food for everyone to enjoy as well.
