Car heater smells like rotten eggs
The main culprit of your car smelling like rotten eggs is most likely sulfur, which indicates that there’s a problem with your catalytic converter. However, a hot engine or broken fuel pressure regulators may also to be blame. If the problem comes and goes after high engine revs, the problem probably doesn’t require immediate attention, but if the car consistently omits a strong odor, you’re going to want to bring the vehicle in for an inspection ASAP.
Engine smells like burning rubber
A burning rubber smell may become noticeable after the engine has been running for an extended period of time, and there are a variety of reasons this may happen. Unfortunately, none of the causes are good. A lose hose, motor oil leak, melting drive belt, electrical problem, leaking coolant, or heating AC Compressor may all be the cause of a burning rubber smell. If you notice this smell coming from your car, it’s a good idea to bring it in for a checkup.
Car air conditioner smells musty
If you get a whiff of something repugnant every time you turn your car’s air conditioner on, you may have some dirty air filters in your vehicle. Dirty air filters are the most common cause of bad-smelling air conditioning, but mold and bacteria may also be to blame. We recommend first checking your car’s air filters before getting too concerned, but if the smell doesn’t subside, you’ll want to bring the vehicle in for an inspection.
