Anyone knows that the Nissan TITAN is the gold standard for towing and performance as it pertains to pickups. However, that’s not to say that the smaller Nissan Frontier can’t handle some dirty work for itself. The TITAN is one of the best trucks available, but some drivers don’t need such a large vehicle and would prefer the smaller Frontier. Learn more about its performance and towing capacity below.

How much can the 2019 Nissan Frontier tow?
The answer to that question is dependent on how the Frontier is equipped. The minimum towing weight of the 2019 Frontier is 3,500 lbs., and that can be achieved with base level engine. With no upgrades whatsoever, Frontier drivers will get a 152-horsepower, 2.5-liter I4 engine that puts out 171 pound-foot of torque. That engine can be upgraded on every trim level to a much larger, 4.0-liter V6 engine with 261 horsepower and 281 pound-foot of torque. That torque allows models with the V6 engine to tow up to 6,500 lbs. when properly equipped with the right trailer hitch.
