How to clean salt out of leather car seats in a Nissan

Winter isn’t kind to us or our vehicles. As we try to combat snow and icy roads, we also have to ensure salt-covered streets and mud. We are likely tracking those materials into our vehicles, which can make things messy. From winter elements to passenger messes, it’s important to know how to clean leather seats in a Nissan without causing further damage to the vehicle’s interior.

2016 Nissan TITAN XD SeatingTips for cleaning leather car seats in the winter

  1. vacuum out any small dust or food particles to avoid scratching the leather
  2. mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water
  3. dampen a leather-safe cloth with the solution
  4. wring out excess solution
  5. gently rub the salt stains out of the leather
  6. allow to dry

The biggest takeaway is to not over-saturate the seats with any liquid. Use as little of the vinegar and water solution as possible in order to loosen the salt stains without compromising the integrity of the leather.
