It’s that time of year again to pull out the old Halloween costume. If you’re like many people, it’s easy to wear the same costume year after year. Instead of sticking to the familiar, try something new with these easy Halloween costume ideas. These are perfect for last-minute costumes and for most of these you don’t need to spend any money. Simply use what you have in your closet! Without further ado, here are 7 clever Halloween costumes!

Max from Where the Wild Things Are
Put on a grey sweatshirt, put the hood put and then sport a crown made out of yellow construction paper.
For couples: Be Max and the beast. For the beast costume simply wear a yellow and orange striped shirt and make a set of horns with duck tape and wire.

A T-Bird
Rock a leather jacket, white t-shirt and jeans and you’re ready to rock and roll!

Morton Salt girl or guy
Choose an all-yellow ensemble and carry an umbrella. Simple!

Nancy Drew
Wear a hairband, skirt and carry a magnifying glass and you’re all set!
For the guys: Be Joe Hardy from The Hardy Boys. Slick back your hair, wear a collared shirt under a sweater with nice pants and carry a flashlight.

Brawny Man
Wear a red plaid shirt, belt, jeans and carry your signature Brawny paper towels. Perfection.

Gumball machine
Use a hot glue gun to attach pom poms in a variety of colors to a shirt. Wear with a pair of red pants or skirt.

It’s raining cats and dogs
Pick up some used stuff dog and cat toys and umbrella from a thrift store or garage sale. Attach fishing line to the toys and dangle from umbrella.
