2017 Nissan Leaf release date and MSRP
Leaf fans rejoice! A new, 2017 Nissan Leaf will be coming to the U.S. market next year or the following. This is great news since the Nissan Leaf hasn’t seen an update since 2013. We anticipate there being a variety of changes to the popular, award-winning leaf that will not only improve its range but will make it even more high-tech. While there is no 2017 Nissan Leaf release date or MSRP information, we expect those details to be revealed soon.
What are the changes to the 2017 Nissan Leaf?
The Nissan Sway was a sleek, sporty small car concept that was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show and it had many wondering if that was the look of the new Nissan Leaf. We assume that the 2017 Nissan Leaf might receive some styling inspiration from the Sway concept. A new battery with longer range might even be in the works and Nissan has hinted at the possibility of having multiple battery options. (More about the Nissan Sway here.)
2017 Nissan Leaf vs. 2016 Chevy Volt
Until the Nissan Leaf took back the title of best-selling electric vehicle in the United State, the Chevy Volt has been a strong competitor. While the 2017 Nissan Leaf is still in the works, the 2016 Chevy Volt was released earlier this year. The 2016 Chevy Volt now has seating for five, like the Nissan Leaf, and a 4 percent increase in range to 102 MPGe. Since the 2017 Nissan Leaf is still a few years out, we anticipate it will have even more of a leg up on the 2016 Chevy Volt.
Only time will tell what’s next for the 2017 Nissan Leaf, but we expect more information to be available on the new electric vehicle soon.
