A 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that generates 152 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque comes standard on the S King Cab® and SV King Cab® trims, while the SV V6 King Cab®, Desert Runner® King Cab®, PRO-4X® King Cab®, S Crew Cab, SV V6 Crew Cab, Desert Runner® Crew Cab, SL Crew Cab, and PRO-4X® Crew Cab all come standard with a 4.0-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine that kicks out an impressive 261 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque.

These powerful engine options allow the 2017 Frontier to tow up to 6,710 pounds, which is impressive for a midsize pickup. In fact, that’s plenty of power to tow a heavy trailer, boat, or even another vehicle.
