2016 Nissan Sentra new safety features

While fresh technology features and slick rims are the more exciting parts of a vehicle to pick out, there is nothing more important than safety. The 2016 Nissan Sentra is packed with several new safety features all designed to make enjoying things like music streaming and 17-inch alloy wheels worthwhile.

Nissan Sentra Safety Shield Technologies

New for the 2016 Nissan Sentra is the ability to add the available Nissan Safety Shield Technologies to the vehicle’s arsenal. This full suite of safety technologies were designed to provide drivers with an extra set of eyes on the road so they can make memories behind the wheel with their peace of mind intact.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert
When drivers back out of a parking spot or driveway, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system will view the area surrounding the Sentra and alert the driver if there is a vehicle approaching he or she didn’t see.
Blind Spot Warning
When drivers are unable to view a vehicle or pedestrian in their blind spots, the Blind Spot Warning will illuminate in the Advanced Drive-Assist Display and sound a warning when drivers use their turn signals.
Forward Emergency Braking
In the event of an imminent collision, the Forward Emergency Braking system warns drivers and applies the brakes if they don’t slow down. It will apply hard braking if collisions are unavoidable.
Rearview Monitor
Whenever the Sentra is in reverse, the vehicle’s available Rearview Monitor will engage and allow drivers to get a view of their surroundings in order to prevent collisions or rear ending another vehicle.
Intelligent Cruise Control
When the Sentra is equipped with Intelligent Cruise Control, the vehicle will maintain its distance between nearby vehicles to prevent collisions. If traffic speed slows or increases, the system will adjust as needed.
