Battle of the Boxes: 2014 Nissan Cube vs. 2014 Scion xB

2014 Nissan Cube vs. 2014 Scion xBIn the past, if you wanted a nice family-friendly vehicle your options were very limited. Consumers had the option of either getting a large gas-guzzling SUV or a mini van. However, the times have changed and consumers have a lot more options today, like the Nissan Cube for example. The Cube is a favorite among Nissan fans. People often compare the Cube with the Scion xB because they have similar styling. So everyone here at Matt Castrucci Nissan Dayton OH thought that it would be fun to do a 2014 Nissan Cube vs. 2014 Scion xB comparison review.

One of the areas where the Nissan Cube really stands out is in fuel economy. The Cube gets an EPA estimated 25 miles per gallon in the city and an estimated 30 miles per gallon on the highway. Now, when you compare these numbers to the Scion xB you’ll see why the fuel economy of the Cube is so impressive. The Scion xB gets an EPA estimated 22 miles per gallon in the city and an estimated 28 miles per gallon in the city. So the xB gets noticeably lower fuel economy than the xB.

One thing that people really seem to love about the Nissan Cube is the quirkiness of it. It’s really hard to define what kind of vehicle it is because it doesn’t really fit into any one category. It’s not quite a minivan, nor is a crossover, or a wagon. It kind of takes the best characteristics of all of those classes and packages them together into one vehicle, and that is something that people really love about it. Since the Scion xB and Nissan Cube both have a similar boxy styling, we are going say that they tie on exterior styling and we will not pick a winner in that category.

The interior of the Nissan Cube is where this vehicle really shines and separates itself from the competition. They have put a lot of personal touches on the Cube that make it very unique. The ceiling of the cube actually has a design in it that is inspired by a raindrop. Even though the Cube is boxy looking on its exterior they made the interior look completely rounded and curvy. The Scion xB does have some notable interior features as well, such a standard touch screen monitor. However, we still believe that the Cube wins in this category because of how unique and innovative the interior is.

Unfortunately, Nissan will not be discontinuing the Cube for the 2015 model year. So you will have to act fast if you would like the opportunity to get one of these unique family vehicles before they are gone. So stop down to Matt Castrucci Nissan in Dayton OH today if you would like to learn even more about the Nissan Cube or any of Nissan’s other great lineup of new or pre-owned vehicles.
